Civmec is excited to announce that we have been awarded the Concrete and Field Erect Tanks Package for the Iluka Rare Earth Refinery. This is a civil scope of works that kicked started in May 2025 with project completion scheduled for early 2026. The scope includes excavating, formworks, reinforcement, final trim and back fill.
This project is based in Eneabba (about 274km north of Perth, W.A) and offers a 2:1 roster to all personnel, offering better work-life balance to our employees. Transportation to and from site is provided from Perth Airport.

The Role
- Undertake detailed excavation with precision and safety
- Trim batters and benches to design specifications
- Condition material for backfill to meet compaction and quality standards
- Trim to laser level for accurate grading and elevation
- Conduct excavation and trimming using GPS systems
- Trim for levels and tight tolerances to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Excavate and backfill service trenches for utilities and infrastructure
- Construct embankments according to engineered designs
- Collect, load, unload, and deliver materials
- Perform general site duties including cleanup, support tasks, and equipment handling
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Relevant licences to operate multiple mobile plant including: Bobcat/skid steer, Telehandler, Water truck, Loader, Telehandler, Final Trim Excavator
- HR Licence preferred
- 2 + years’ experience operating mobile plant machinery and ability to pass VOC’s
- Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
- Previous construction experience
- Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.
