Civmec are currently seeking Experienced Painter Blasters to join our Construction division working on a 2:1 DIDO roster.

This is a great opportunity to join our team and be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering both Civil and SMP packages on a long term project.

The Role

  • Protect adjacent surfaces using drop sheets
  • Prepare surfaces by removing old coatings, filling imperfections, and sealing
  • Mix paints to specified colours using pigments, oils, and additives
  • Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Perform general cleaning of tools, equipment, and work areas
  • Grind and sand surfaces to ensure proper paint adhesion
  • Load and mix paint into spray systems
  • Connect and adjust hoses and nozzles for correct spray pressure
  • Secure items in spray booths for safe application
  • Operate spray guns to achieve even coating coverage
  • Clean spray equipment including nozzles, containers, and hoses
  • Set up and operate abrasive blasting equipment

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

 

  • Relevant Trade Certificate
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card)
  • Airless Spray and blasting experience
  • RIIWHS204D or RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights (within 2 years of issue)
  • RIIWHS202D or RIIWHS202E Enter and Work in Confined Space (within 2 years of issue)
  • Previous experience on construction projects
  • Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
  • High Risk Work Licence (EWP) – Preferred although not mandatory
