The Opportunity

After securing a very exciting project with Covalent, Civmec are currently seeking experienced SMP/Mechanical Engineers (various levels) to join our Project team based at the Covalent Lithium Refinery in Kwinana. 
The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec including structural and piping fabrication, SMP erection, refractory lining, insulation and E&I installation works.
Commencing in early 2022 with expected completion in 2024, this local, long-term project provides opportunity for project work within the Perth metro area and a family friendly work schedule of 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday.

Our Project Engineers are key members of our project delivery team. 
You will manage a portion of the Project scope and be involved in all aspects of project execution, including construction, quality, commercial and management activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide the technical engineering support to the project including technical queries, inspections and interpretation of design deliverables.
  • Review Scope of Work documents and ensure project specifications and code requirements are covered within the Scope of Work.
  • Assist with the compilation of construction Work Packs and test packs in accordance with Project requirement.
  • Review, create, issue and follow up all request for information (RFI’s) and technical queries (TQ’s).
  • Interface and be involved with other project functions such as quality, commercial, construction and project controls.
  • Subcontract management.
  • Assist the Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager with tasks as required.
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to support the project.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical engineering or construction management.
  • Previous project experience on construction projects, ideally in the mining, oil and gas sector, is desirable.
  • Previous experience within Lithium would be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools.
  • Sound knowledge of Navisworks application software.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
