The Project

Civmec have secured a very exciting project with Covalent Lithium Pty Ltd. The scope of work covers a vast range of disciplines including structural and piping fabrication, SMP erection, refractory lining, insulation, and E&I installation works.

The site is in Kwinana, 35km south of Perth and is due to commence mid-2022 with an expected completion in 2024.


The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking the following experienced Refractory workers to join our construction team on the Covalent Lithium Refinery project:


  • Refractory Bricklayers
  • Refractory Carpenters
  • Refractory Nozzelman
  • Refractory Trades Assistants


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a small team in the installation of the monolithic wear lining
  • Understand and follow Civmec’ Safe System of Work
  • Possess adequate skills of the role
  • Maintain PPE and Safety compliance
  • Be able to work night shift



This local, long-term opportunity provides project work within the metro area with a family friendly work schedule of 50 hours per week, Monday-Friday.


About you

  • You will be based in Perth, Western Australia
  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate (Desirable)
  • Relevant Certificates / Trade certificates
  • Confined Space ticket (desirable)
  • Working a heights ticket (desirable)
  • Elevated Work Platform (desirable)
  • Previous experience in refractory and FIFO work desirable
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
  • Complete a pre-employment medical, including Drug & Alcohol screening
