Civmec are currently seeking experienced Steelfixers to support our upcoming Port Debottlenecking Project. Civmec has been awarded the major civil works package for PDP2 at BHP’s Nelson Point, including delivery of a new Car Dumper 6 (CD6) and associated civil/structural works - vault, tunnel, positioner slabs, substation, dust scrubber, and conveyor interfaces.
The Role
- Read and interpret working plans and steel lists
- Reo placement
- Resize steel bars or mesh to the required length using bolt cutters, guillotines and power saws
- Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by welding, wiring or clipping into predetermined locations within the concrete
- Fabricate steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads or special units
- Join the prefabricated units together and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours
- Assist with concrete placement
- Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- 2+ years Industrial experience in steel fixing
- Previous construction experience within mining and resources (preferable)
- Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness card (White Card)
