The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking Expressions of Interest applications from experienced Trainers to join our team based at our Henderson RTO.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Compliance at all times with Civmec RTO Policies and Procedures, Standards for RTOs 2015, and Company Policies and Procedures;
  • Compliance at all times with approved High Risk Assessment Instruments and OSH/ WHS Legislation;
  • Training High Risk and Non-High Risk Units to the required standard and level of compliance;
  • Non-accredited training including verifications of competencies (VOCs) including site based VOCs where required;
  • Working with RTO Operations Manager to ensure RTO is compliant and audit ready;
  • Undertaking Recognition of Prior Learning and Recognition of Current Competencies;
  • Mapping, Validation and Moderation of learning and assessment material;
  • Engage with Validation process where necessary;
  • Development of course material, VOCs and Assessment Instruments;
  • House-keeping of training equipment including inspection and tagging of rigging equipment and maintaining rigging and equipment registers;
  • OSH responsibilities such as inspections, internal audits, toolboxes and inductions where required;
  • Liaising with HSE and Clients on OSH and training issues;
  • Ensuring that Trainer and Assessor qualifications are kept up-to-date, maintain industry currency and knowledge of current VET practices; and
  • Administrative duties associated with the RTO where required
About You


  • Cert IV Training and Assessment TAE 40116
  • WorkSafe Assessor in Dogging, Basic Rigging, EWP, Forklift, CN Crane as a minimum
  • High Risk Licence with RA, WP, LF, CN and CO
  • Able to train units of competency from the RII training page such as Working Safely at Heights, Confined Space, Telehandler, Skidsteer, Excavator, Wheel Loader, Overhead Gantry Crane
  • At least 5-9 years Industry Experience
  • Understanding of RTO compliance and Standards for RTOs 2015
  • Ability to adapt training to a range of learners and contexts
  • Ability to be adaptable and problem solve
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player who is highly motivated



  • High Risk Licence with SB, SI or SA
  • OSH knowledge with a Cert IV in OSH/ WHS
  • Experience with mapping, moderation and validation of learning and assessment material
  • Developing course materials, Assessment Instruments and VOCs where necessary
