The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking experienced Civil Project Engineers for various Projects commencing in early 2021. All positions will be FIFO 3:1 roster in the Pilbara Region, W.A.

Point of hire is Perth, W.A.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspecting works during construction, not just at pre-pour inspection, to ensure quality control and construction as per drawings and specifications, working closely with Supervisors to achieve project objectives
  • Monitor procurement of materials, cast ins and consumables for portion of project scope, to ensure works can proceed as per schedule
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries 
  • Review, create, issue and follow up all request for information (RFI’s) and technical queries (TQ’s). Ensuring register is up to date. Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner;
  • Identification, raising and managing variations to the Contract, working with Senior Engineer and Contracts Administer as required
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques, ensure ITP’s are adhered to. 
  • Ensure the company's objectives and policies are adhered to 
  • Preparation and issue of weekly status reports. Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed 
  • Monitor budgeted, actual and earned man-hours against project schedule and cost codes for portion of project scope on a weekly basis for QMR
  • Monitor costs and expenditure
  • Maintain project files and all civil tracking registers, e.g. rebars, concrete, formwork, etc, delegating tasks to Junior and Graduate Engineers as required.
  • Preparation of work schedules and work packs
  • Preparation of material requisitions
  • Take timely corrective action to address any issued non-conformances 
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes 
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested 
  • Provide weekly progress reporting to Site Planner
  • Preparation of forecasts for portion of project scope for concrete, bolts, reo for submission to the Senior and Lead Project Engineer
  • Reviews Scope of Work documents and ensures project specifications and code requirements are covered within the Scope of Work
  • Completion of Red Line Drawings as required
  • Manage portion of project scope survey and geotechnical requirements providing forecast to the Lead and Senior Engineer as required.
  • Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, civil engineering or construction management
  • Previous demonstrated experience working in a similar position
  • Experience working on large scale civil construction projects
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
