Civmec has secured ongoing services completing BHP Maintenance and Shutdown works. The scope of works includes Civil, SMP, Electrical and Instrumentation projects and shutdowns located across the Pilbara, from Port Hedland to Newman.

Commencing early November, these roles consist of a start to finish construction of concrete ground slabs for a mine site storage facility located in the Pilbara region.

This is a great opportunity for experienced Concrete Finishers to join the team. This shutdown is for approx. 2 weeks' duration starting early November.

The Role

  • Pouring of concrete into formwork and assisting with formwork
  • Spreading and levelling of concrete using rakes, shovels, hand and machine trowels
  • Screeding and finishing concrete
  • Curing of concrete and monitoring the effects of weather during the curing process
  • Assisting with vibration and concrete compaction
  • Perform other general duties as required

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Ability to demonstrate screeding and finishing concrete to a high standard (essential)
  • minimum 2+ years' industry experience working as a Concrete Finisher
  • Previous civil construction experience within the mining and resources sectors (preferable)
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and in the Pilbara weather
  • A willingness to assist Form Workers, Steel Fixers and other Concrete-related Trades if required
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness card (White Card)
  • Previous BHP Project experience highly regarded
