Civmec is entering an exciting phase of growth and diversification within our Construction division—and we’re looking for experienced QC Inspectors to join our team.
We’re seeking proactive and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Inspectors to contribute to major projects across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, and welding scopes. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that project quality standards are met and maintained, helping to create a more efficient and compliant work environment. The Role
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of Civil, SMP (Structural, Mechanical, Piping), and E&I (Electrical & Instrumentation) installations as applicable to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Assist in the development of procedures, management plans, ITPs, and methodology statements in accordance with project specifications and relevant standards.
• Perform progressive inspections and completion of weld mapping, inspection and test reports, field inspection checklists, and other documentation as required by the project’s quality management system.
• Raise NDE requests, coordinate NDE subcontractor activities on site.
• Review, validate, and endorse NDE reports.
• Monitor material traceability in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Review flange management, alignments and dimensional verification checks
• Compile the project MDR progressively, ensuring full traceability is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical advice and support to the project team on all quality-related matters.
• Liaise with client inspection representatives and conduct routine surveillance and inspections.
• Review drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy and constructability.
• Identify and report non-conformances, defects, or deviations, and support resolution processes with the project team.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure timely corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Relevant engineering or trade qualifications, with a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience, including at least 3 years in a QA/QC role on construction projects.
• Proven experience managing ITPs, NCRs, quality audits, and QA/QC documentation including traceability and handover packages.
• Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, construction codes, and standards such as ISO, AS/NZS, ASME etc.
• Demonstrated experience in compiling MDRs and maintaining documentation integrity.
• Certification as a CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or equivalent (eg IIW IWI-S) and or NACE qualifications are highly regarded.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the project team and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Construction and Completion Management Systems (CMS) software
• Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports and documentation
