The Opportunity


Civmec are in search of an experienced Contract Administrator to assist in the successful delivery of an existing project.  This  role will allow the candidate to form part of our existing project team and continue to ensure the successful  delivery of a major Construction Project. 


The successful candidate will report into project commercial and play a critical part in supporting the project teams effective management of our relationship with the client and subcontractors.


You will already have construction experience in delivering major projects with an established record of successful commercial outcomes that focus on contract compliance and relationship optimisation.

Duties and Responsibilities


Provide leadership and manage all aspects of the project commercial and contract functions, including but not limited to:

  • Assist project team in the formation and notification of variations and daywork claims;
  • Attend weekly site meetings representing Civmec’s commercial interests;
  • Advise client and relevant parties of notices of delay, extensions of time, subcontracts and or supplier agreements required for the project;
  • Provide support to the project team in the preparation of relevant notices within designated timeframes
  • Update and maintain notices of delay and extensions of time registers;
  • Notify clients of any issues, special circumstances or breaches of contract;
  • Liaise with subcontractors to ensure all relevant insurances are current and legal (i.e. workers compensation)
  • Prepare contracts for suppliers and subcontractors highlighting relevant issues specific to the project;
  • Revise and retain contract registers highlighting payment conditions;
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes;
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested;
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required;

About You


Your experience should include the following:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying (or similar field) is desired but not necessary.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role’;
  • Previous experience within the construction industry is essential;
  • Strong, clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Strong understanding of commercial management and project controls
