Civmec are currently seeking experienced Advanced or Intermediate Riggers to support our upcoming Port Debottlenecking Project. Civmec has been awarded the major civil works package for PDP2 at BHP’s Nelson Point, including delivery of a new Car Dumper 6 (CD6) and associated civil/structural works - vault, tunnel, positioner slabs, substation, dust scrubber, and conveyor interfaces.

The Role

Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor your key responsibilities are:

  • Assist with lift plans and lifting operations
  • Align level and securing machinery
  • Inspecting, maintain and tagging rigging equipment
  • Ensure rigging gear is stored correctly
  • Supporting crane setup, including barricading, exclusion zones and signage in line with site requirements
  • Attach correctly rated rigging equipment to structures to move loads using chain blocks, pulleys, tirfors and lever hoists
  • Keep tools and equipment clean, safe and stored appropriately
  • Perform other general duties as required

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Current High Risk Work Licence, RA/RI, WP and VOC (VOC within 2 Years preferred) 
  • A current Driver’s Licence (HR desirable)
  • White Card – (Construction Safety Awareness)
  • Working at Heights (Within 2 years of completion)
  • Previous construction experience
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
