The Opportunity

Our Maintenance and Refractory team in Gladstone is growing, and we are looking for motivated Bricklayers and Refractory Bricklayers to work on a variety of projects within the Gladstone region.

 

This role is offered on a full-time permanent basis (on a 12hr shift rotation) which will ensure you have ample time to enjoy all of Gladstone and its surroundings. 
Whether it is the Great Barrier Reef, pristine waterways and beaches or our beautiful national parks you are certain to find a place to enjoy and explore in your down time. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

•    Set out and prepare work area
•    Trowelling / buttering mortar to serve as a base and binder for bricks in rows, designs, or shapes between joints
•    Maintain and repair bricks, cement block/bricks 
•    Operate brick cutting machines, air powered tools and mixers
•    Read from work plans and specifications and assemble materials as required
•    Installation of refractory castables
•    Working within Confined Space conditions
•    Work safely at various heights
•    Measuring distance from a set reference point
•    Participating and contributing to safety observations and investigations when required
•    Installation of refractory products to a quality standard
•    Perform other general duties as required

 

About You

Preferred
•    Formal qualification in Bricklaying (experience in Refractory is not essential)
•    Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in the industry
•    Construction Industry White Card
•    Current ‘C” Class Drivers licence or above
•    You must be a ‘team player’ with a ‘can do’ attitude
•    Able to take direction from supervisors 
•    A commitment to the safety of yourself and work crew
•    Able to attend and pass a suitable medical / physical assessment and drug screening
•    Current WAH, CSE, GTA
