This is a great opportunity to join our SMP team working on the newly awarded Western Range project located in the Pilbara, Western Australia.  

The Project

Civmec has secured the award of a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The iron ore project includes Greenfields and Brownfields scope with the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.

Your Background

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
  • Mark out steel components in accordance with engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
  • Cut, notch, drill, ream, shape and form steel components in accordance with engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
  • Fit up and adequately tack weld steel components with correct dimensions, edge preparations, weld preparations, weld gaps and to tolerance indicated in engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards
  • Perform welding techniques including, but not limited to, MMAW, FCAW, MIG
  • 2+ years Industrial experience as a Boilermaker 
  • Ability to pass a combined 4G/4F Carbon Steel (WPS492 MMAW and FCAW)
  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate
  • Nationally Recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
  • High Risk Work License with WP
  • All successful applicants must be prepared to provide their own Adflow welding helmets to comply with RTIO mandatory requirements
  • Previous construction experience on remote projects within the mining and resources sector (preferable)
