This is a great opportunity to join our SMP team working on the Western Range project located in the Pilbara, Western Australia.   

The Project

Civmec has secured the award of a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

The iron ore project includes Greenfields and Brownfields scope with the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.

Your Background

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

  • 2+ years Industrial experience as a Mechanical Fitter or comparative experience
  • Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting
  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
  • Previous construction experience within the mining and resources (preferable)
  • Experience in the alignment of mechanical equipment
  • Relative experience in the assembly and alignment of gyratory crushers complete with drives, gearboxes, and hydrosets
  • Relative experience in the installation and final alignment of conveyor drives and idler frames
  • Perform other general duties as required
  • Ability to perform laser alignments would be highly regarded
  • Previous construction experience on a remote project within the mining and resources sector (preferable)
