The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking expressions of interest for Steel Fixer's  to join our ever growing  team, on a new and exciting Construction Project recently awarded in the South West of WA.

The Project

Civmec has been awarded a significant contract from Albemarle Lithium Pty Ltd for the delivery of a new lithium hydroxide plant to be built in Western Australia’s south-west.

This Project will be located in the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area, near the port town of Bunbury.

Civmec’s scope of works will include Concrete footings, ringbeams and slabs associated with the Hydromet, Final Product, reagents and utilities for Trains 1 to 3.

These positions will be expected to start from May 2019 – August 2020

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret working plans and steel lists for the job  
  • Steel Erection
  • Set out the work from these instructions 
  • Make steel bars or mesh the required length by cutting them with bolt cutters, guillotines and power saws 
  • Assemble the reinforcing bars or mesh by welding, wiring or clipping into  predetermined locations within the concrete 
  •  Fabricate steel reinforcement as beams, footing pads or special units 
  • Join the prefabricated units together for large sections of high rise or civil  projects, and position the reinforcement ready for concrete pours
  •  Perform other general duties to suit operational requirements as directed
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required 

About You

  • 3 years minimum experience 
  •  Working at Heights
  • Elevated work Platform 
  • White / Blue Card
