The Opportunity
Civmec are currently seeking expressions of interest from Civil Superintendents to join our ever growing team, for drive in drive out (DIDO) construction opportunities in the South West of Western Australia.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Implementing the construction plan and monitoring progress in respect of time, costs and quality;
- Guide supervision and direct employees to ensure their compliance with the HSE / Quality Plan;
- Overseeing the standard and progress of subcontractors' work;
- Execute the construction portion of project plans through detailed planning and day-to-day direction of field activities
- Promoting a working environment that is safe and healthy and protects the environment;
- Reviewing contractors’ plans and schedules;
- Monitoring construction work for compliance with engineering drawings, design specifications, owner’s standards and statutory regulations;
- Maintaining and fostering relationships and contacts, and liaison with the owner’s team in respect of technical issues, specifications and variations;
- Monitoring and reporting on contractors’ performance;
- Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required;
- Identifying contract variations, negotiating minor variations or additional work within overall scope
- participating in negotiations in respect of scope changes;
- Ensuring that the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management are implemented; and
- Understand Civmec’s HSE management system and documentation applicable to the scope of the work.
- Formulate safe methods of work in consultation with the HSE Advisor and workforce personnel
About You
Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively, lead and manage subcontractors.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
