After securing a very exciting project with Rio Tinto, Civmec are currently seeking an experienced HSE Advisors to join our Project team on a 2/1 roster in the Pilbara. These position will commence in early January 2026 and run through until the end of the year.
The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec within the maintenance space. The project will comprise of 6 shutdowns over a period of 12 months performing upgrades on the clients balance machines.
Our HSE Advisors are responsible for supporting the project in the delivery of work activities safely and ensure compliance with the Client, Civmec and Project HSE requirements, Code of Conduct, Standards, Procedures and relevant statutory obligations.
The Role
- Oversee and manage HSE aspects of all site operations
- Support risk identification and management processes to ensure work activities are reduced to ALARP (As Low as Reasonably Practicable)
- Lead incident investigations and communicate findings to project and management teams
- Develop, implement, and coordinate HSE standards, programs, and procedures
- Ensure all project activities, processes, and systems comply with relevant legislation and the Corporate Compliance Matrix
- Stay informed of legislative changes and apply updates to company standards, procedures, and plans
- Monitor, communicate, and implement regulatory updates as required
- Assist in hazard investigations, ensuring corrective actions address root causes and prevent recurrence
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar HSE role within construction or heavy industry
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices
- A commitment to safety, integrity, and teamwork
- Cert Iv or Diploma in OHS
- ICAM or Taproot Cetification
- Previous use of HSE databases
- Ability to commumnicate with a range of key stakeholdrs and key role members
- Experience working on Rio Tinto sites is highly regarded
