After securing a very exciting project with Rio Tinto, Civmec are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Project team based at the Henderson office for the first 3 months and then work a 2/1 roster in the Pilbara.
The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec within the maintenance space. The project will comprise of 8 shutdowns over a period of 12 months performing upgrades on 6 of the clients balance machines (Stackers, Reclaimers and Ship Loaders).
You will provide Engineering support and assistance regarding project management and to assist with Engineering duties as delegated to ensure successful project outcomes. Provide technical support to all engineering team and supervisors, to ensure compliance with specified engineering standards, drawings, quality standards and time and profit objectives for the specific projects.
The Role
- Regularly inspecting works to ensure quality control as per drawings and specifications, working closely with Supervisors to achieve project objectives
- Monitor procurement of materials, and consumables for portion of project scope, to ensure works can proceed as per schedule
- Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
- Review, create, issue and follow up all request for information (RFI’s) and technical queries (TQ’s). Ensuring register is up to date. Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner;
- Understand and implement quality control techniques, ensure ITP’s are adhered to.
- Preparation of work packs and material requisitions, raising non-conformances
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- White Card
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position (minimum)
- Proficient knowledge in all Microsoft Office Suites
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders and key relationship members at all levels
