After securing a very exciting project with Rio Tinto, Civmec are currently seeking an experienced HSE Superintendent to join our Project team on a 2/1 roster in the Pilbara.
The scope of work being undertaken covers most disciplines performed by Civmec within the maintenance space. The project will comprise of 6 shutdowns over the coming 9 months performing upgrades on the clients balance machines.
Our HSE Superintendents are responsible for supporting the project in the delivery of work activities safely and ensure compliance with the Client, Civmec and Project HSE requirements, Code of Conduct, Standards, Procedures and relevant statutory obligations. You will also be required to provide guidance and support to a team of HSE Advisors across day and nightshift.
The Role
- Drive safety performance through proactive leadership and hands-on site presence.
- Develop, implement and monitor HSE strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Mentor and empower supervisors and contractors to uphold HSE excellence.
- Lead incident investigations and support root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Implement, audit and conduct inspections of site specific HSE management systems
- Compile and issue HSE based reports (incident reports, trends analysis)
- Support risk identification and management processes to ensure risk of work activities is reduced to a ALARP
- Review and monitor subcontractors HSE management processes
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary Qualification in OHS
- Proven experience in a superintendent or senior HSE role in maintenance
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
- Incident investigation experience (e.g. ICAM, Taproot Certification)
- A leadership style that is confident, collaborative and solutions-focused
- Ability to lead in HSE delivery
