This is a key role responsible for leading the Defence acceptance lifecycle for Offshore Patrol Vessels under CDI, ensuring all deliverables meet contractual, technical, and Commonwealth acceptance requirements. Reporting to the Platform Delivery Manager, the role coordinates and leads readiness reviews, acceptance events, and engagement with Defence stakeholders to achieve compliant and timely final acceptance outcomes.
The Role
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and execute the acceptance management plan in accordance with contractual and technical requirements.
• Coordinate scheduling and logistics for acceptance events and readiness reviews (non ceremonial.
• Monitor and report on acceptance progress, risks, and issues to the Platform Delivery Manager.
• Ensure timely preparation, submission and approval of acceptance artefacts and supporting evidence.
• Facilitate resolution of acceptance related issues with internal teams and external representatives.
• Maintain accurate and auditable records of acceptance activities, decisions, and outcomes.
• Support governance and reporting requirements associated with acceptance milestones.
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Formal Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
• Proven experience working within regulated or Defence-aligned environments, such as frameworks and standards ideally in a Naval ship building or ship sustainment environment.
• Relevant professional development in systems, assurance, or compliance.
• Strong capability in interpreting and applying contractual and technical requirements.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent organisation and time management abilities.
• High-level written and verbal communication skills.
We are delivering a significant naval shipbuilding and sustainment program for the Royal Australian Navy/Department of Defence. In pursuit of the SEA 1180 (Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel) contract the company supports Australia’s national sovereign shipbuilding strategy and operates from the Australian Marine Complex in Henderson, Western Australia. Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
