The Opportunity

Civmec are currently seeking Boilermakers/Fabricators with steel experience to join our new Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Program, based in our new state of the art facility in Henderson, WA. This role provides you with the opportunity to work in a variety of ship building disciplines including sub assembly and block fabrication, block consolidation, outfitting and piping through to the end of 2029.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fabrication of sub assembly’s and foundations ready for install
  • Keel and Block Fabrication, installing bulkheads, frame work, shell plates bracket etc
  • Block Consolidation, joining of completed blocks and installing Foundations
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and ship plans
  • Mark out, cut, notch, drill, ream, shape and form steel components
  • Apply temporary bracing, where required
  • Straighten steel components where applicable
  • Sling and move steel components with gantry cranes, mobile lifting equipment ETC
  • Utilise all hand tools and forming machines to perform required functions
  • Perform welding techniques including, but not limited to MMAW, FCAW, MIG
  • Follow quality control systems and techniques
  • Perform other general duties as required
About You
  • Trade Certificate in Boilermaking, Metal Fabrication or Plateworker
  • Working at heights
  • Confined space
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Post Apprenticeship
