Electrical Commissioning Technician

The Role
Civmec is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Commissioning Technician to play a key role in delivering world-class marine and vessel projects. In this hands-on position, you’ll be at the forefront of bringing complex electrical systems to life—ensuring they are tested, commissioned, and ready for operation to the highest safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Commission, inspect, and functionally test electrical systems and equipment onboard vessels
- Diagnose faults, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure operational readiness
- Verify systems comply with design specifications and operational requirements
- Work safely and consistently in line with electrical standards, company procedures, and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and records
- Collaborate closely with engineers, supervisors, and project teams to meet key project milestones
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Grade A Electrical licence.
- Electrical Trade qualification.
- 5 + years’ experience as a Marine Technician (Electrical) or Electrician
- In depth knowledge of commissioning vessel systems, Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT’s), Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT’s) and the operation and maintenance of marine systems.
- Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations.
Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
