The Role

 

Civmec are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Commissioning Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment onboard the vessel are functionally tested and commissioned safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Carry out commissioning, inspection and functional testing of electrical systems and equipment onboard the vessel.
  • Perform fault finding, troubleshooting, and corrective actions to ensure operational readiness.
  • Apply technical expertise to verify compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with applicable electrical standards, company policies and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and commissioning records.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors and project teams to support project milestones and delivery schedules

 

About You

 

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

 

  • Grade A Electrical licence.
  • Electrical Trade qualification.
  • 5 + years’ experience as a Marine Technician (Electrical) or Electrician
  • In depth knowledge of commissioning vessel systems, Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT’s), Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT’s) and the operation and maintenance of marine systems.
  • Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations.

 

 

 

Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
