As an Electrical Engineer Project, you’ll be the critical link between design and construction, working directly with production teams to solve electrical issues, manage design changes, and ensure safe, high quality installation of complex systems. You’ll influence how electrical work is delivered on major naval projects, see your solutions implemented on the shop floor, and be supported by a strong safety culture and a collaborative, experienced team.
The Role
- Ensuring project construction activities within the electrical scope are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications
- Managing electrical and instrumentation engineering / technical queries on site
- Assist with the preparation of work packs, method statements and other construction related information in a timely manner as required to support the work schedule
- Compose weekly progress reports and update schedules as required
- Ensure relevant field inspection checklists are completed and signed in conjunction with client representatives
- Understand and implement quality control techniques
- Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
- Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as directed
- Perform other general duties that may be necessary to suit operational requirements as directed
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Electrical trade certificate (or equivalent of)
- Previous experience on shipbuilding or ship repair projects
- Ideally minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- Experience working within a multi-discipline project team.
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write clear and concise technical reports and documents.
- A collaborative team approach to building effective relationships and influencing stakeholders
Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
