Civmec are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join our shipbuilding project based in Henderson WA. This position provides a great opportunity to join a prestigious project with a lengthy pipeline of work leading into the next generation.  

The Role

  • Overseeing all Main Propulsion, Shafting, Blindes, Rudders and Finstabilizers.
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques
  • Work with subcontractors on all contracted assignments
  • Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner
  • Preparation and issue of weekly status reports
  • Tracking of manhours
  • Preparation of work schedules,
  • Preparation of material requisitions
  • Review, create, issue and follow up all request for information (RFI’s) and technical queries (TQ’s)
  • Take timely corrective action to address any issued non-conformances
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, engineering or construction management
  • Previous project experience on fabrication projects ideally in the ship building sector is desirable
  • Sound knowledge of the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools is essential.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite is essential.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large scale construction projects,
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy
