Located in our Assembly Hall, Henderson, WA, this is a full-time appointment offering long-term career security for a systems-driven individual.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic engineering work in analysis, design, development, evaluation, planning, testing and operation in support of higher-level engineers in the development of system and technical products
  • Supports the project organisation in all questions regarding the construction in the field of shipbuilding of the OPVs
  • Estimating material quantities, costs, and equipment needs for project planning.
  • Controls and monitors the component suppliers within the our system
  • Coordinating and supervising the inspection, servicing, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and plant.
  • Verifying that all designs and completed work comply with relevant specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinates requirements (technology, time and costs) of the project between the technical department and vice versa
  • To take personal responsibility to not adversely affect their own health and safety or the health and safety of others, protect the environment and are to comply, so far as reasonably practicable, with any reasonable instruction or request relating to work, health or safety

 

To be successful in the role, you will possess the following:

  • A relevant shipbuilding engineering or technology qualification with knowledge and understanding across ship building and shipbuilding requirements in similar size naval vessels to the OPV.Minimum 5 years of experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, heavy industry, or similar large-scale engineering projects
  • An understanding of the ship building ideally with experience of the Australian and German naval ship building industry.
  • Knowledge of Engineering principles, methods, and techniques within a specific area of expertise.
  • Knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software.
