The Opportunity


Civmec are currently seeking a further experienced QC Inspector to join our team on a full time basis, based at our Henderson Workshop. 


Our QC Inspectors are responsible for coordinating and carrying out inspections as required by Inspection and Test Plans, providing technical (quality) support to the manufacturing and construction teams and monitoring/reporting on the Project Team’s compliance with the Project Quality Plan, nominated specifications and field quality control procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Perform work in accordance with the Quality Assurance management systems procedures and work instructions
  • Undertake general welding inspection duties
  • Prepare and assist in welding traceability issues
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of corporate and project specific documentation and review Manufacturers Data Reports (MDR)
  • Report on product and process non-conformance and product preservation
  • Monitor the calibration of inspection and testing equipment
  • Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Post Weld Heat Treatment PWHT) requirements
  • Organise and assist with welding qualification verification
  • Monitor repair rates
  • Report on handling and storage of consumables
  • Understand the intent and function of the safety and quality management systems
  • Perform other general duties to suit operational requirements as directed
  • Maintain company standards for Quality Assurance purposes
  • Present neat documentation, correspondence and records as requested
  • Provide accurate daily, weekly and monthly reports as required

About You



  • CSWIP 3.1 (Inspector) or equivalent international qualification
  • Experience in a similar role - minimum three (3) years for structural and/or five (5) years for piping
  • Have strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to overcome challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator



  • Cert 10 – AS1796 (Pressure Vessels)
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in the welding fabrication industry
  • Intermediate computer literacy
