Join Civmec’s OPV Project as a Permit Officer, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining safe, compliant, and well-coordinated operations across high-risk activities. In this dynamic position, you’ll support the development and implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems, ensure compliance with legislation and corporate standards, and work closely with production and shipbuilding teams to uphold a strong safety culture.


The Role

  • Ensure risks are identified, managed, and reduced to ALARP, raising permits where required.
  • Develop and coordinate HSE programs, standards, and permitting processes.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and propose risk mitigation strategies.
  • Perform inspections of work areas, equipment, WMS, permits, and high-risk processes.
  • Support hazardous substances management and ensure actions from incidents are completed.
  • Contribute to company HSEQ objectives and embed positive safety behaviours.
  • Meet key performance indicators, including routine audits, inspections, behavioural observations, and timely closeout of corrective actions.


About You

  • MSMPER300 Issue Work Permits
  • MSMPER200 Work in Accordance with an Issued Permit
  • MSMPER201 Conduct Hazard Analysis
  • Formal qualification in Workplace Health and Safety
  • PTW management experience in construction, manufacturing, resources, or shipbuilding.
  • Strong understanding of safety legislation and the ability to interpret applicable standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
