The Opportunity

 

Civmec have a new opportunity for an established Scheduler to join the Marine and Defence Shipbuilding Team.  Reporting through to the Project Controls Manager you will play a key role in the preparation and maintenance of an approved Contract Master Schedule to support  project and production requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

The following activities form a  part of the role responsibilities;

 

  • Prepare plans and schedule/s using the contracted scope of work documentation
  • Monitor production with a focus on ensuring correct resources are deployed to each project
  • Prepare resource curves, man-power histograms and productivity/production reviews
  • Prepare, maintain & report status on schedule/s and progress curves
  • Produce plans and schedule/s of work including visual aids such as bar charts, procedures and diagrams
  • Ensure project work breakdown structures are reflected in the project schedule/s
  • Participate in vendor/contractor bid review
  • Evaluate and report schedule deviations
  • Manage CCP’s [Contract Change Proposals] and BCR’s [Baseline Change Reviews] 
  • Provide planning/schedule support to various departments within the project
  • Proactively assist in the management of the overall project delivery
  • Provide input into risk assessment for activities in the schedule

 

About You

 

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in structural, mechanical, civil engineering or construction management
  • Sound knowledge and experience in project planning and scheduling
  • An understanding of Earned Value Management and/or experience in Cobra
  • Project based experience from within a large complex shipbuilding/maintenance environment
  • Proficient use of  Primavera 6 or Microsoft Project is essential
