Join the Civmec Team

Civmec is currently seeking an experienced Project Configuration Officer to join our Shipbuilding team based in Henderson, WA. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the prestigious Royal Australian Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program, supporting the construction of world‑class naval assets.

In this role, you will play a key part in driving project configuration outcomes, collaborating with a highly skilled team, and supporting the successful delivery of a nationally significant defence project.

The Role

  • Support the Configuration Management team in delivering compliant and efficient configuration processes across active projects.
  • Maintain data integrity within the Document Management System (DMS), ensuring accurate records and a complete audit trail.
  • Assist with baseline and change management activities, including identification, release, and revision of configuration items.
  • Conduct configuration checks and audits, supporting the preparation and validation of baseline and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) plans.
  • Support quality assurance and configuration audits, addressing non‑conformances and contributing to continuous process improvement.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders, contractors, and third parties regarding CM methods, procedures, and standard requirements.
  • Support reporting obligations through preparation of internal and external configuration‑related reports.

About You

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

 

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in configuration, records, or information management within large, dynamic project environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of configuration management processes, standards, and data integrity requirements.
  • Proficient in electronic document management systems (e.g., Siemens TeamCentre) with strong technical aptitude.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high‑quality reports and documentation.
  • Highly detail‑oriented with the ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities and commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Due to the Security Clearance required for this position, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain and uphold a minimum Baseline Security Clearance through the Australian Department of Defence.
