The Opportunity

 

Civmec, in partnership with Luerssen Australia, is currently processing and fabricating steel at our purpose built facility in Henderson for 12 Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.  We are looking for a further Piping & Mechanical Supervisor to take responsibility for the pipe and mechanical work crew activities and ensure that works are completed in accordance with safety, quality, time and budget objectives for the Project.

 

   Fulltime permanent position - be home every night – based locally in Henderson, WA.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Oversee the installation of Ships piping components and mechanical equipment
  • Supervise and control designated project works for all piping and mechanical duties
  • Review work pack Bill of Materials (BOM) for material availability
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling and coordinating deliveries
  • Develop and review documentation necessary to facilitate work carried out
  • Produce as-built drawings for piping installations
  • Compose weekly progress reports
  • Update schedules as required
  • Ensure relevant inspection checklists are completed and signed in conjunction with client representatives
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques

About You

 

Essential

  • Tertiary qualifications in relative trade
  • Previous experience in shipbuilding and/or ship repair projects 
  • Experience working in the defence Shipbuilding industry - preferred
  • Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and resource management
  • Well developed stakeholder management skills
  • High level interpersonal skills
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite

 

Successful Applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances as required by Department of Defence. This will include a national police clearance.
